The Saribung Peak is located in the Damodar Himalayan range in the western part of Nepal, near the Nepal-Tibet border in the upper Mustang region. It was only opened for climbing expeditions by the government of Nepal in 2006. Mountain Monarch has organized this expedition, which includes exploration of the restricted areas of Upper Mustang and the Nar Phu valleys, both popular and inspiring destinations for trekkers.
The Saribung climbing route follows the upper Mustang trek route to Lomantang. Additionally, we will visit the captivating Luri Gompa before embarking on the Namta Khola Valley. After a successful Saribung expedition, we will trek through the Nar and Phu valleys. The trails are rugged and thrilling, ascending high cliffsides and passing through villages that have preserved their traditional character over the centuries.
We embark on an expedition to climb Saribung Peak, following the esteemed upper Mustang trek route to Lomantang. Along the way, we make a stop at the captivating Luri Gompa before venturing into the untamed Namta Khola Valley. After a successful Saribung expedition, we continue our trek through the challenging Nar and Phu valleys. These trails are rugged and exhilarating, traversing steep cliffsides and ancient villages that have preserved their traditional way of life.
The Saribung Expedition offers an opportunity to witness breathtaking and extraordinary landscapes, immerse in diverse cultures and religions, and encounter a wide range of topographical features. While Saribung peak climbing is considered relatively easy for seasoned mountaineers, it is physically demanding due to the altitude challenges posed by high passes such as Saribung La at over 5600 meters and Kang La at around 5200 meters.
For those planning to join the expedition, it is important to note that proper safety measures, backup support, and appropriate mountaineering gear will be provided. The expedition is scheduled for both 2023 and 2024.
We possess a team of professional and highly experienced climbing guides who are capable of leading your expedition to Saribung. Our commitment to safety is evident as we carry an Oxygen cylinder and comprehensive first aid kits, serving as effective backups. Moreover, we ensure ample support by providing a sufficient number of trek crew members. As a competent and self-reliant team, we are equipped with all the necessary camping gear, tented equipment, and food supplies. Additionally, we offer the required climbing gear, including climbing boots, for this journey to Saribung in the majestic Himalayas. It is worth noting that bookings are open for customizing the Saribung expedition in either 2023 or 2024. Please inform us of your desired duration and specific requirements to transform your dream of a climbing trip in the extraordinary Upper Mustang region of Nepal into reality.
Here are the main features of our climbing expedition in the Mustang region: a comprehensive and fully-supported trip to Saribung Peak, traveling with one of the Top 10 climbing operators in Nepal (ranked 4th in 2019), provision of supplementary Oxygen for climbers and guides, the option to customize expedition dates, and all-inclusive meals with tea and coffee. Enjoy a hassle-free and cost-effective adventure with our assistance in obtaining expedition permits.
