My boyfriend Joe Ashworth first met Deepak on the second day of his arrival at Kathmandu, he was approached by him and offered to be a guide to help him see the sights of the city and trek. he took him up on his offer and he proved himself to not only be very helpful but also friendly and considerate of what he wanted to do. We have since became friends when I joined Joe in Nepal and we went with him to visit his family in ‘Thosey’, his home village where we were welcomed, fed and cared for, which was far beyond our expectations. During our stay I became very sick and was in need of help as neither of us could speak Nepali well and didn’t know the area. I remember walking up still very ill, and Deepak had already gone out to fetch medicine for me, which was exactly needed, he really helped me through that, and I am very grateful.
