Outline Itinerary
On the day 9, we willtrek for approximately 8 hours to reach Gokyo via Rinjo Pass. We will begin our journey before sunrise to reach Rinjo Pass on time. There will be steep climbing involved in the initial and final parts of the pass. However, the views from the past will be breathtaking. You will be able to see spectacular peaks such as Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho-Oyu, and many more above the lakes nearby. Finally, we will descend 600 meters to Gokyo Lake situated at an altitude of 4,790 meters. We will be staying in a Tea house and will be served breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
On the day 10, we’ll trek to Gokyo Ri and Thangnak, which will take around 4 hours and 4 hours, respectively. We will begin the ascent of Gokyo Ri early in the morning, which will take around 4 hours, but it is worth it as it offers one of the best panoramic viewpoints. We will cross the Ngozumpa glacier while going towards Thangnak, where we will be spending the night. We will be staying in a Tea house and will be served breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
On the day 13, we’ll trek to Gorak Shep and trek to EBC, which will take approximately 7-8 hours. Kalapathar is the best and closest vantage point on Earth to see Mt Everest. We will walk west of Khumbu Glacier and pass the moraine to Gorak Shep. After having a light lunch, we will continue our hike to the Base Camp. Today’s walk would be strenuous due to the EBC excursion and high altitude. We will be staying in a Tea house and will be served breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
