Mera Peak, located in the remote mountains of Nepal, is a majestic trekking peak that is relatively easy to climb, but there are a few challenges that need to be overcome before reaching the summit. Initially, this peak was classified as an ‘F’ grade climb, which is considered a relatively easy climb. In recent years, however, this peak has been upgraded to an ‘Alpine Grade PD’ climb, mainly due to the recent changes in the location of the glaciers and the extremely difficult final section. There are tricky sections of the climb that require you to traverse through glaciers, and some steep trails require the use of ice axes and fixed ropes, as well as crampons, to reach the summit. The summit is at an elevation of 6467 m, and depending on the climate, you will need to ascend 5 degrees by fixed rope and ascender to get to the summit.
This is why it is considered the best training ground for the 8,000-meter climb.

Difficulty factors for the Mera Peak climb

That is why we have prepared a full itinerary with short treks, proper acclimatization, and rest. You will be able to reach the summit without any problems.

The Total Distance Covered

The total distance covered during this thrilling peak climbing adventure is very challenging. The trail goes through steep and remote terrain to reach a higher altitude. Long-distance treks are difficult and cause fatigue and problems even for the most experienced climbers.
For those who are not trekkers or amateurs in the region, it is a challenge. It is also one of the most difficult routes to traverse. Therefore, the trekkers must be in the best physical and mental condition to be able to face any challenge during the trek.

The Mera Peak is located at an altitude of above 6000 m, and the trekkers will have to traverse some of the toughest paths, including crevasses and boulders, as well as glacial paths. They will also have to practice on the nearby hills before reaching the peak of the adventure.

The Himalayas are known for their unpredictable weather, and the weather in the region can change drastically in a matter of hours. Therefore, the weather at the high altitude can be a significant factor in the difficulty of the trek.

The Himalayan region that you will traverse on this tour is much colder than other parts of the country, and you will face extremely frigid conditions. The weather is unpredictable in the entire Himalayas.

You never know what kind of day you will have on the beautiful trails of the Himalayas. In this tour, you will face stormy weather, snowstorms, overcast weather, and other difficulties. Acute Mountain Sickness

One of the most important aspects of the foothills climbing adventure is the presence of acute mountain sickness. Because of the altitude of the Mera peaks, it is quite common to experience acute mountain sickness on the trail.

Acclimatization

3 to 4 Liters of Water
It is also important to hydrate on the trip.
Because you will be going to the top of Mera Peak without any oxygen, the oxygen level in the region is around 47%. Therefore, all these factors of altitude sickness should be kept in mind during your trek.
