This is a Langtang Heritage Trek that combines the Tamang Heritage with Kenjin Gompa. This is an off-the-beaten trail that highlights the rich Tamang cultural heritage trail and the picturesque scenery of the secret Langtang valley. This trek is specially designed for those who want to explore ancient cultures and witness stunning natural beauty.
The Langtang Tamang Heritage Trail is a previously restricted region near the Tibetan border. The local people in this area are primarily of Tamang, Tibetan origin, and their culture and crafts have remained unchanged. You can witness their craftsmanship, dress, traditionally built stone households, and beautifully carved wooden porches that reflect the solitude and serenity of the Himalayan scenery.
To start the Langtang Heritage Trek, we first explore cultural heritage sites in Kathmandu Valley. We then drive to Syabrubesi, where our trek begins. During the trek, we pass many traditional settlements and monasteries that have remained unchanged. The panoramic views of Mt. Langtang, Kerung, and Ganesh Himal are stunning.
The trek also offers a unique arrangement of Homestay programs at some places that enhance the cultural experience. This allows you to have close interaction with the local people, which is rare on regular trekking routes. We also visit the Kenjin Gompa and hike the Kenjin Ri for a stunning Himalayan vista.
