The Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek is a challenging route located in the eastern part of Nepal. This trek is best suited for those who have the time and desire to venture into remote and less-trodden areas. The Kanchenjunga trek offers a tranquil and picturesque trekking experience and is a natural paradise. Mount Kanchenjunga, which stands at 8586 meters, is the third-highest mountain in the world and borders Nepal and India.

The Kanchenjunga Circuit Trek explores the less trodden and unspoiled region of the eastern part of Nepal. This trek allows trekkers to encounter ethnic groups with their unique culture and traditions. Hiking through the tropical to subtropical rhododendron, oak, and chestnut forests, the high Alpine zone is dominated by enchanting views of the snow-capped peaks. Thus, the Kanchenjunga base camp trek fascinates trekkers with the glacial plateau and beautiful landscape.

The traditional village settlements of Rai, Limbu, Gurung, and Sherpa with their solitary culture and lifestyle are an added attraction. This region is famous for being the home of the Red Panda, snow leopard, and other snow animals. The Kanchenjunga trek area in Nepal is protected and controlled by the KCAP, Kanchenjunga Conservation Area Project. There are two North and South Base Camps at 5400 meters.

The Kanchenjunga Trek is a remote journey in the Himalayas, starting along the Tamur River. The main ethnic group of this region is Lumbu, and they are the mainstay in the British Gurkha Regiments. Their ancestors have ruled Nepal for many centuries. Hiking through some of the country’s most pristine oak and rhododendron forests, this less trodden route ultimately brings trekkers to harsher high terrain. The Mirgin-La pass at 4725 meters exhibits Makalu, Chamlang, and Everest. Trekkers will pass the glacier on their way to Pang Pema base camp, which rewards them with a close-up and stunning view of the Kanchenjunga peak. Parades of peaks like Wedge Peak, The Twins, Pyramid Peak, and Tent Peak are also visible on the Kanchenjunga circuit trek.

The highlights of this trek include picturesque and strenuous trekking in the eastern part of Nepal, exploring the diverse culture and topography, having a medically trained trek guide with a supplementary oxygen tank, an experienced guide with a supporting trek crew, full board meals on the trek with tea and coffee, hotel, transportation, and permits being taken care of, and required trek gear for trekking in Kanchenjunga.
