About Trek
The Everest Base Camp Trek is widely recognized as one of the most renowned treks in Nepal, attracting trekkers from all corners of the globe. This trek presents an opportunity to experience some of the world’s most breathtaking landscapes and witness the mountain range from an entirely new perspective. In addition, interact with the Sherpa culture while being surrounded by the grandeur of the peaks. The EBC trek is a challenging, long walk, but the thrilling experience of being close to the world’s highest mountain is unparalleled.
The itinerary for the trek is a classic trekking route that takes approximately 11- 14 days of walking to complete, starting from Lukla. We recommend spending two nights at Namche and Dingboche, respectively, to acclimatize and explore the area. We follow the less-trodden route via Monla and Phortse villages to Dingboche and then hike to Luchche and Gorekshep. From there, we hike to the Everest base camp and climb the Kalapathar. We return via Pheriche and Tengboche monasteries in different ways.
We offer the most competitive cost for the Everest base camp trek, covering most of the expenses on the trip, including hotel accommodation, Lukla flight, trek permit, meals, trek guide, crew services, and more. We guarantee a twin-bedded private room with a 2/3 night attached bathroom on the trek. All of our tea houses are basic in what they offer, with a dining hall to have meals and chat with fellow trekkers or crew. We ensure hygienic full-board meals on the trek from breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
The Everest base camp trek is strenuous, and we acknowledge that the walk will push you to your limit. However, with no rope or climbing activities, it is an achievable journey for the average fit person. It is a steady and slow walking holiday at a high altitude, and we recommend pre-trek preparation to enjoy it at its best. We suggest 3/4 weeks of trek preparation exercise, including aerobics, walking, cycling, jogging, or Tai Chi. While getting physically fit, mental preparation must not be ignored.
We understand the challenges of hiking high in the Himalayas and the importance of walking on rugged terrain with less oxygen and unpredictable weather. Therefore, we ensure proper safety backup, including a medical-trained guide with Oxygen and medicine. We do not recommend the trek for pregnant women or anyone with heart problems, considering the basic accommodation, limited food options, and unpredictable weather, which could increase the trek’s difficulty. However, most people of reasonable fitness for their age can complete this hike and enjoy the adventure more if they are fitter.
The Spring and Autumn/Fall are the best times to do the EBC trek, and we recommend hiking from March to May, September to November, or even December for clear blue skies, sunny days, and cold nights. We guarantee to get the necessary permits for the trek and arrange the flight to Lukla, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free experience. We usually take off from Ramechhap for Lukla during the busy season to avoid air traffic in Kathmandu airport and flight delays. The total walking distance to Everest base camp is about 140 to 160 km, covering 12 days of the trek, including the day hikes.
[Our company stands out from the hundreds of outfitters available due to our unwavering commitment to safety and responsible travel. Unlike most companies, we have permanent guides who have undergone extensive medical and leadership training and are well-equipped to handle any challenges that may arise during a trek. Our trek crew, including porters and Sherpa, is more than capable of providing support to each trekker.
We provide all necessary medication and even carry backup oxygen, which is crucial in case of Acute Mountain Sickness during a hike. Our clients can rest assured that they are in safe hands throughout their journey.
While most expenses are included in the trip cost, there are other expenses to consider, such as meals in the city, drinking water, Wi-Fi, hot showers, and snacks, which require an additional budget.
As part of our adventure culture, we encourage our clients to express their gratitude to the trek crew through tipping.
We offer fixed departure dates for our Everest Base Camp Trek, both in the spring and fall/autumn seasons of 2024. Additionally, we organize other trips, such as the 12-day EBC Trek with Helicopter. With us, you can be confident that your adventure will be unforgettable and your safety will always be our top priority.
